Bassin Bleu Irrigation Project Gets Re-Energized with HPP Grant!

Since 2016 DCC has partnered with the Organizacion pour le Development de Bassin Bleu, Jacmel (ODBJ) in an effort to develop and implement an irrigation project in Bassin Bleu, Jacmel that would benefit the community by providing farmers with a dependable source of water for their crops. Through the support of colleagues in the Department of Civil Engineering at Rowan University, this project has been moving forward at a slow but steady pace.

Bassin Bleu Project Moves Ahead!

On January 2020, the Bassin Bleu project was re-energized with DCC's successful application for a grant from the Haitian Professionals of Philadelphia (HPP) to help fund the implementation of one of three strands of the Bassin Bleu irrigation project.

The reinvigorated Bassin Bleu project, which originated with the idea of building a secondary school in the mountain top community but shifted to an irrigation project, is exciting as it brings us ever closer to presenting real results to the community of Bassin Bleu.
